Have you ever been in a garden that just felt right? The plants, the flow, the choice of materials all just worked together beautifully. One of our favorite things is making that happen for you at your home or site. Through our design process we will take your dream and make it a reality. What if you don’t know what you want? That’s ok too. We would be happy to help you realize your space’s potential. Here are a few basics of our design process:
1. Initial Meeting. At this time we want to get to know you. Your likes, dislikes. We will ask you questions like,”What do you want the garden to feel like when you are in it?” or “What plants do you enjoy?” This is a great time to discuss any ideas or concepts you may have in mind for your landscape. This is also the time where we will need to discuss the project schedule and budget.
2. Site Survey. Based on the size and scope of your project, we will either hand measure the design area or use a licensed surveyor to create an accurate site plan. We can also use digital files you may already have available for this. This step is critical in obtaining necessary design information. It allows us to prepare accurate costs and materials calculations as well as the ability to plan for potential problems ahead of time.
3. Design Phase. This is when we take the information previously gathered from our initial meeting and site survey and create a design for you. This is the where we incorporate our creativity and field experience. The result is our design for your project.
4. Presentation. This is the exciting part! This is when we walk you through the design. We will explain why certain choices of materials were made and discuss the overall functionality of the space.
